As part of our Sustainability and Environmental initiatives in our community, we are delighted to be associated with and provide sponsorship to various environmental projects such as the Fingal North Dublin Beekeepers Association’s Queen Rearing Project for the Conservation of the Native Irish Black Honeybee, Apis Mellifera Mellifera.

This project aims to develop all areas North of the Liffey as a voluntary area of conservation. The Native Irish Black Honeybee is far less aggressive than those cross bred by invasive breeds. To date Howth Peninsula is now populated with the Native Irish Bee. Louth, Meath and South Dublin are also at various stages of achieving this conservation.
We are very happy to advise that the project has progressed wonderfully over the summer and some beautiful honey has been produced for both our customers and staff to enjoy.
